October 1, 2023 (Potrero) -- Two people have been arrested after more than 50 firearms were seized in a search of a  Potrero residence.

On September 28, deputies from the Sheriff's Rural Command, Alpine Sheriff's Station and Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail (SED/SWAT), served a search warrant in the 25000 block of Potrero Valley Road in Potrero.

“The warrant was related to an investigation of an assault with a deadly weapon incident that had occurred several months earlier,” says  Lieutenant Jeff Ford.

Upon serving the warrant, more than 50 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition were located, including assault-style weapons.

Richard Dale Fox,41, is charged with  assault with a deadly weapon, and with illegally possessing firearms and ammunition as a convicted felon. He was booked into the San Diego Central Jail. Christina Lee Griffin, 42, was arrested and booked into the Las Colinas Detention Facility for knowingly furnishing firearms to a prohibited person.

Inancurate information

Richard Dale Fox is 51, not 41. Why is he a felon? You may recall he was sentenced to 10 years in the death of his girlfriend by setting off a homemade cannon.
