POLICE SEEK MEN WHO ROBBED SAM'S MARKET IN LA MESA

June 21, 2012 (La Mesa)—Police seek public help to locate two men who robbed the Sam’s Market at 9:40 p.m. last night. 

The suspects entered the store at 7587 University Avenue in La Mesa and one suspect displayed a brown handgun, demanding cash from the clerk. After the clerk complied, the suspects left the store on foot.  They were last seen running westbound on Sturgess Avenue from Parks Avenue.

Officers searched the surrounding areas with assistance from San Diego Police Department’s ABLE helicopter and Sheriff’s canine unit, but were unable to locate the suspects.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1: black male adult in his early 20s, approximately 6’0 tall, 220 lbs, wearing a white t-shirt, dark jeans, and a ski mask.

Suspect #2: black male adult in his early 20s, approximately 5’9 tall, 170 lbs, wearing a brown t-shirt, dark jeans, and a green Celtics baseball cap. He was carrying a brown revolver.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the La Mesa Police Department.
