October 1, 2023 (Tulsa) - On Sunday, the San Diego State men’s tennis had two players appear in consolation matches in the ITA All-American Championships after falling in the first round yesterday. Players in the 256-person tournament are guaranteed two matches. With Chikaya Sato winning in the first round, only Alexander Mandma and Robin Parts played today in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mandma went up against Kennesaw State’s Harvey Conway. After dropping the first set 6-1, Mandma bounced back in the second 6-3 and cruised to a 6-1 win in the deciding set to complete the comeback.

Looking for his first win in an SDSU uniform, Parts faced Memphis’ Charlie Barry. Parts did not encounter much resistance in a 6-3, 6-2 victory.

San Diego State returns to Southern California and will compete next weekend in the UCSB Fall Classic in Santa Barbara, California, from Friday, Oct. 6-Sunday, Oct. 8
