--WESTERN THEME FOR HOME OF GUIDING HANDS GALA ON JUNE 6

May 11, 2015 (El Cajon) - The Home of Guiding Hands (HGH), an El Cajon-based non-profit organization that provides services, training and advocacy for people with developmental disabilities, will present its 41st annual Home of Guiding Hands Gala from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday, June 6, at the Hotel Del Coronado. Proceeds will benefit programs and services HGH provides to more than 1,000 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties. Former Padres pitcher Randy Jones, a National League Cy Young Award winner, will be the master of ceremonies.

This year’s gala, with the theme of “Black Tie & Boots,” will feature a western theme, along with live music and silent auction. Attire can include western suits, vests, cowboy or cowgirl hats, boots, paisley silk rags, bolo ties, themed belt buckles and turquoise and leather jewelry. More than 300 guests are expected to attend. Admission with full dinner begins at $200 per person. Admission with lounge seating and a small-bites dinner begins at $100 per person. HGH is an El Cajon-based non-profit organization that provides services, training and advocacy for people with developmental disabilities. Services are provided to about 1,000 infants, adolescents and adults with developmental and physical disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and autism. Support is provided to individuals with developmental disabilities who are living independently in their own homes and communities of choice, along with residents of 31 homes in the San Diego area communities of El Cajon, Lakeside, San Carlos, Spring Valley and Santee. HGH also operates a Respite Program that gives family members a much-needed break, a Life Planning Program that assists families with the process of developing a care plan for the future and an early childhood program, along with transportation services and counseling and family support services.
