COUNTY STRENGTHENS OVERSIGHT OF CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM

March 13, 2019 (San Diego) - The San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved creating a new board to enhance the ability of the County to prevent and respond to child abuse and neglect on Tuesday.

The action dissolved the Child Abuse Prevention Coordinating Council and replaces that body with a new Child and Family Strengthening Advisory Board that will have broad oversight of the County’s child welfare system.

December 28, 2014 (San Diego)--San Diego County’s Health and Human Services Agency has teamed up with the San Diego Chargers for their annual “Join the Team” Chargers calendar to raise awareness for children waiting to be adopted.  The collaboration has proven to be a winning team, year after year.
