April 14, 2023 (San Diego) - All the effort Trent Grisham made last night was in vain as the Padres lost in extras. They looked to rebound tonight against Eric Lauer, who started for Milwaukee against Michael Wacha.
This one was all Brewers. Willy Adames doubled in the first to score Christian Yelich, Brian Anderson doubled to score Adames, ex-Padre Luke Voit singled to score Anderson and Mike Brosseau doubled to score Voit and Milwaukee led 4-0 after one.
Yelic hit a solo homer in the second and the Brewers led 5-0 after two.
Rowdy Tellez had a repeat of last night with a solo homer to deep right in the fifth. Voit singled to score Anderson. Luis Campusano put the Padres on the board with a homer in the bottom of the fifth. The Brewers still led 7-1 after five.
Tellez did it again in the sixth with a three-run blast to right and the Brewers led 10-1 after six.
Roufned Odor singled in the eighth to score Jose Azocar, but the Brewers buried the Padres 11-2.
