April 13, 2023 (San Diego) - After a decent road trip, the Padres are finally back in the friendly confines of Petco Park facing the Brewers for the weekend.  started for Milwaukee against Nick Martinez.

Rowdy Tellez kicked things off with a two-run homer in the first, but Manny Machado got the Padres within one with a solo shot in the home half and the Brewers led 2-1 after one.

Mike Brosseau added on with a solo homer in the fifth and the Brewers led 3-1 after five.

It looked like the Padres were done for, but in the eighth, Trent Grisham smacked a two-run homer to left and it was a brand new ballgame, tied at three after eight.  Nine innings wasn’t enough, so we went to bonus baseball.

Tellez broke the tie in the 10th with a sac fly that scored Christian Yelich and that was enough to take game one in extras 4-3.
