April 20, 2023 (Phoenix) - After a weird series against the Braves, the Padres embarked on the road to Phoenix for the weekend.  Michael Wacha started tonight’s game one against Ryne Nelson for the Diamondbacks.

Trent Grisham got the series started on the right foot with a two-RBI double in the second, but Geraldo Perdomo tripled in the home half and the Padres led 2-1 after two.

Xander Bogaerts blew the game open with a two-run shot in the third and the Padres led 4-1 after three.

Matt Carpenter added a blast to left in the fourth, but Josh Rojas narrowed the gap with a two-RBI double to left.  Lourdes Gurriel Jr. did the same and then tied the game on a wild pitch that he got to come home on and we were tied at five after five.

Thankfully, the Padres reclaimed the lead with another two-RBI double by Grisham in the sixth and the Padres had their first good game in a long time with a 7-5 win.
