April 12, 2023 (New York) - The Padres evened the series last night with a good bounce-back win.  Today, both teams got up early to try and take the series.  Blake Snell started against Tylor Megill for the Mets.

Juan Soto kicked things off in the first with a two-run homer to deep right and the Padres led 2-0 after one.

The Mets narrowed the gap in the second with Brandon Nimmo’s double that scored ex-Padre Tommy Pham and Francisco Lindor tied it up in the third with a solo homer and we were tied at two after three.

Pete Alonso hit a solo homer in the fifth to give the Mets the lead and Nimmo singled in the sixth to score Eduardo Escobar and the Mets led 4-2 after six.

Pham singled in the seventh to score Alonzo and the Mets took the series with a 5-2 win.
