Gunnar Henderson added on in the fifth with a three-RBI double and the Os led 4-1 after five.

Garrett Cooper got the Padres on the board with a solo homer in the sixth and the Orioles took game one with an easy 4-1 win, outshined only by Darvish passing Hideo Nomo for the most strikeouts by a Japanese-born pitcher.
