July 31, 2023 (Denver) - The Padres went to Colorado for the last two days of July for three games with the Rockies.  Seth Lugo started tonight’s game one against Austin Gomber for Colorado.

After a two-and-a-half- hour rain delay, Jake Cronenworth singled in the fourth to score Juan Soto and the Padres led 1-0 after four.

It went away in the fifth when Elehuris Montero doubled to score two and the Rockies led 2-1 after five.

Ryan McMahon added a solo homer to center in the sixth and the Rockies led 3-1 after six.

Matthew Batten brought the Padres closer with a single in the seventh that scored Cronenworth and it looked lost, but Trent Grisham saved the day with a solo homer in the ninth.  Nine innings weren’t enough, so we went to extras tied at three.

But we stopped at 10 when McMahon hit a sac fly to score Brenton Doyle and the Rockies walked off the Padres with a 4-3 win.
