ECM PADRES REPORT: PADRES SPLIT SERIES WITH ROCKIES

April 2, 2023 (San Diego) - The Padres finally got their first win of 2023 last night.  Today was an opportunity to split against Colorado.  Austin Gomber started for the Rockies against Seth Lugo.

Trent Grisham broke the ice in the third with a solo homer to right.  Xander Bogaerts launched a two-run homer to left and the Padres led 3-0 after three.

 
Ryan McMahon hit a solo homer to right to get the Rockies on the board in the seventh, but the Padres succeeded in splitting the series with a 3-1 win.
 
UP NEXT
 
The Rockies leave and are replaced by the Diamondbacks for two days.  Game one tomorrow is at 6:40 p.m.  Ryne Nelson starts for Arizona against Ryan Weathers.
