ECM PADRES REPORT: PADRES SWEEP AGAIN FOR SEVENTH STRAIGHT

September 20, 2023 (San Diego) - Blake Snell pitched an impressive seven innings with no hits last night and Xander Bogaerts hit the two-run jack for the win in the ninth.  The Padres looked for the sweep today with Chase Anderson on the mound for Colorado against Seth Lugo.

The Rockies got the upper hand today.  Brendan Rodgers homered in the first and Ezequiel Tovar singled to score Nolan Jones. Xander Bogaerts scored in the home half and Colorado led 2-1 after one.

 

In the seventh, the Padres roared back.  Luis Campusano singled to score Juan Soto and Ji-Man Choi hit a sac fly to score Trent Grisham and the Padres won their seventh straight game and get another sweep with a 3-2 win.

After a day off, the Cardinals come to town for the weekend.  Game one on Friday is at 6:40 p.m.  Daniel Hudson starts for St. Louis against Matt Waldron.
