October 1, 2023 (Chicago) - And here we are, the last day of the regular season. And the Padres are actually above .500! They tried to sweep the Sox today with Pedro Avila on the mound against José Urena for Chicago.
Both teams must’ve had senioritis because we went scoreless for nine innings. Ha-Seong Kim finally broke the tie in the 10th with a sac fly that scored Eguy Rosario, but the Chisox tied it in the home half with Zach Remillard’s single that scored Elvis Andrus and we were tied at one after 10.
Jurickson Profar reclaimed the lead for the Padres in the 11th with a single that scored José Azocar and the Padres ended their season with a sweep, winning 2-1.
