July 27, 2019 (San Diego) - After losing the first game of the series to the Giants last night, the Padres tried again today with Shaun Anderson on the mound for San Francisco against Cal Quantrill.

It was scoreless until the Padres broke the ice in the fourth with Wil Myers’ double that scored Hunter Renfroe all the way from first to give the Padres a 1-0 lead after four.

Fernando Tatis Jr. added on in the fifth with a blast to straight center, good for two runs and the Padres took a 3-0 lead after five.

The Giants got on the board in the sixth on Pablo Sandoval’s single to left that scored Mike Yastrzemski and the Padres led 3-1.

Valhalla alum Greg Garcia helped add more in the home half of the sixth with a single to left center that scored two runs and the Padres evened the series with San Francisco, winning 5-1.
