August 30, 2023 (St. Louis) - The Padres and Cardinals went for the series today.  Rich Hill started against Miles Mikolas for St. Louis.

Manny Machado singled in the first to score Ha-Seong Kim, who singled in the second to score Matt Carpenter.  Juan Soto singled too to score Luis Campusano and the Padres led 3-0 after two.

But the game was tied on one swing of the bat from Jordan Walker, who blasted a three-run bomb in the fourth and we were tied at three after four.

Soto saved the day in the seventh with a single that scored Ben Gamel and the Padres reclaimed the lead, 4-3 after seven.

But the Padres were once again walked off by Tommy Edman, who hit a two-run homer in the ninth for the walk-off 5-4 series victory.
