April 20, 2016 (San Diego) - Game two of Pirates-Padres saw Drew Pomeranz on the mound for the Pads and Jeff Locke on the mound for Pittsburgh.

The Padres started the scoring this time.  Alexei Ramirez singled in the second, driving in Melvin Upton Jr. for a 1-0 Padres lead.  Jemile Weeks singled and drove in Derek Norris and the Padres led 2-0.  Jon Jay hit another single to drive in Ramirez and it was 3-0 Padres.  Wil Myers--you guessed it--singled again, driving in Adam Rosales and it was 4-0 Friars.

In the third, Ramirez tripled to score Derek Norris and it was 5-0 Padres.  Rosales singled and drove in Ramirez and the Padres extended their lead to 6-0.  Drew Pomeranz finally did something good and *loud sigh* singled and scored Rosales and the score was 7-0 Padres.

Matt Kemp homered in the fourth to give the Padres an 8-0 lead.

Everything calmed down for a bit until the seventh when Jordy Mercer put the Pirates on the board with a double that drove in Sean Rodriguez to make the score 8-1 Padres.

The Pirates would tack on one more run, but the Friars took game two 8-2.  The final game of the series is tomorrow.
