March 15, 2013 (San Diego)--All next week, San Diego State University's Associated Students will host GreenFest, a week-long festival that educates the campus community about sustainability, while promoting school spirit. Students get a free breakfast for using alternative transportation

3 p.m., Boat Challenge, Aztec Aquaplex

Student teams build boats out of recyclable materials – the furthest floater wins

Tuesday, March 19

Noon, Sustain Your Roots Festival, Campanile Walkway

Cultural and sustainability awareness fair

1 p.m., Aztec Chef Competition, North End of Campanile Walkway

SDSU chefs face off at this event

7 p.m., Fashion & Music Awards, ENS Field

Student teams get fashionable using recyclable materials and promote sustainability via music videos

Wednesday, March 20

4 p.m., Keynote Speaker Leilani Munter, Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center

The world’s No. 1 eco-athlete speaks to students

Thursday, March 21

7 p.m., GreenFest Concert, Open Air Theatre

An SDSU student act opens for up-and-coming Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
