SHOOT-OUT, CLASSIC CARS FETE HISTORIC HIGHWAY 94 RIBBON CUTTING

 

August 28, 2010 (Rancho San Diego) -County Supervisor Dianne Jacob and state and local tourism industry leaders will celebrate the historical designation of Highway 94 iwith a ribbon cutting ceremony at Simpson’s Nursery in Jamul at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 28. Over a dozen businesses from Jamul to Boulevard will offer discounts and giveaways to customers who attend. The event will also feature classic car displays and a reenactment of the famed Gaskill Brothers shootout.

BODY FOUND IN JAMUL; HOMICIDE INVESTIGATING

 

August 15, 2010 (Jamul) –A U.S. Border Patrol agent checking a brushy area just east of Honey Springs Road happened across a body last night at 6:25 p.m. The male victim and significant signs of trauma, which appeared inconsistent with a natural death. San Diego Sheriff homicide detectives are investigating and the Sheriff’s Crime Lab responded.

August 11, 2010 (Jamul) – San Miguel Fire and Sycuan firefighting crews responded to a structure fire off Highway 94 and Vista San Diego in Jamul this afternoon. Upon arrival, crews found the roof in flames and made an aggressive attack.

CRASH KILLS PARASAILER IN JAMUL

June 13, 2010 (Otay Mesa) – David Victor William Ogison of Ontario, Canada died June 10th after his parasail apparently collapsed and he crashed into a ravine in the Otay Lakes/Jamul area, the San Diego Medical Examiner’s office reports.

ANDERSON RESOLUTION PASSES LEGISLATURE: GRANTS HISTORIC DESIGNATION TO HIGHWAY 94

June 11, 2010 (Sacramento) - The California State Senate unanimously passed Assembly Concurrent Resolution 131, which grants historic designation to the portion of Highway 94 from Jamacha Road in Rancho San Diego to the junction with Historic Route 80. Authored by Assemblyman Joel Anderson (R-El Cajon), the Resolution previously passed the Assembly and is now law.

BRUSH FIRE DOUSED AT GOLF COURSE

May 12, 2010 (Jamul) – A small brush fire on the 13th hole of Cottonwood Golf Course on Willows Road near Jamul was swiftly extinguished by Cal-Fire and the San Miguel Fire Department.

SHERIFF SEEKS SUSPECT IN JAMUL CHILD KIDNAPPING: MAN WITH DRAGON TATTOOS, LONG BEARD & PICKUP TRUCK

 

March 24, 2010 (Jamul) –Sheriff’s detectives are looking for a muscular, tall (6’3-6’5) white man with dragon tattoos on both arms, shaggy brown hair and a beard reaching to mid-chest. He reportedly forced a 12-year-old boy into a pickup truck with screws in tires (racing-type tires) in Jamul around 8 p.m. last night, then later released the victim.

LOST JAMUL TEEN FOUND SAFE IN EL CAJON

 

 

March 16, 2010 (El Cajon) 9:15 a.m.– Brenda Luu, a 19-year-old mentally impaired teen from Jamul, has just been found safely by El Cajon Police at a bus stop at Mollison and Main Streets in El Cajon after a citizen reported seeing the missing girl

BRUSH FIRES IN JAMUL & VALLEY CENTER

 

August 28, 2009 (San Diego’s East County) – A brush fire in Jamul has caused a power outage in the vicinity. The fire, caused by a traffic accident, has been contained at ¾ an acre, CAL-FIRE spokesperson Roxanne Provaznik reports.
