ENERGY EXPERT LECTURES AT EL CAP

February 19, 2013 (Lakeside)--New careers as the wave of the future was a key theme in a guest lecture February 12 given by Chuck Brands at El Capitan High School.  Brands is a local sustainability and solar energy expert who is also vice-president of Heartland Coalition and director of its UnitedGREEN division.

Last fall, Brands coordinated a class at Southwestern College to teach a new technology that uses all relevant data to map a building so that owners and occupants can manage their energy consumption and plan to adapt the building for energy innovation. The students were team-taught this pioneering class by experts from across the country under a grant from SDG&E to the Heartland Coalition.

February 16, 2012 (San Diego) – A few years ago I wrote an essay that was published in the anthology book Voices of Autism. I was unaware of the significance until I saw how impressed my college professors, friends, and family were. Shortly after, I was featured in a piece by my alma mater.

March 5, 2010 (El Cajon) -- The Grossmont College Career Center will host “Be A Star Performer,” a free informational meeting on soft skills that can give you an edge in your job search and career success, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, at the Career Center, Room 627, on the college campus.

NEED WORK? FREE CAREER DAY OCT. 19 AT GROSSMONT COLLEGE

October 8, 2009 (El Cajon)--Grossmont College Career Center will present four free career workshops on campus at the Career Center office, Room 627, located adjacent to the Student Center, during its 2009 Career Week, Oct. 19 to 22. The public is invited to attend.

 

The free workshops include: “Job Search Tips” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 19; “Career Pathways in Health Care” from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20; “Green Careers and Renewable Energy” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21; and “Meeting the Needs of Veterans” from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22.
