WINTER RIVER WALK DEC. 13 AT LAKESIDE'S RIVERPARK CONSERVANCY

November 26, 2014 (Lakeside) – Lakeside River Park Conservancy invites you to join in a winter stroll on December 13th from 9 a.m. to 10:30 am.  The free event will take you along a Lakeside promenade through autumn colored leaves of deciduous willow trees.  Pause on a wildlife observation deck to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Among the many species of birds in this riparian habitat are crested Phainopepla feeding on mistletoe berries high up in sycamore trees.

March 9, 2014 (San Diego’s East County) -- Supervisor Dianne Jacob’s proposal to bring veterans’ services to several County libraries in rural areas. Will be on the agenda for San Diego Supervisors on Tuesday. Jacob introduced the measure following an East County Magazine investigation which found there are no County veterans services in rural areas of East County, or anywhere east of La Mesa.

AMERICORP NCCC SETS SIGHTS ON FIRE PREVENTION IN EAST COUNTY

 

February 26, 2014 (Lakeside)-- Arriving at Blue Sky Ranch on January 16th, a team of 10 young adults from AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) began a 9-week service project. The team is working with Lakeside River Park Conservancy, Blue Sky Ranch and Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary on various projects until their departure on March 20th.
