May 19, 2016 (El Cajon) -- Home of Guiding Hands (HGH), a nonprofit based in El Cajon committed to providing support to local individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, will host its “Cabaret Rouge” Gala on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at The US Grant Hotel in Downtown San Diego.

May 22, 2015 (El Cajon) - The Home of Guiding Hands 41st Annual Black Tie & Boots Gala will take place on Saturday, June 6th, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the world famous Hotel Del Coronado. Former National League Cy Young Award winner will be the master of ceremonies. Money raised from the gala will benefit programs and services the Home of Guiding Hands provides to over 1,000 infants, adolescents, and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties.

March 3, 2013 (El Cajon) – The city of El Cajon and CECO (San Diego County Employees’ Charitable Organization) awarded separate grants to Home of Guiding Hands. The former approved a $35,270 grant for the residential program’s capital improvements on Tuesday, February 26 at the El Cajon City Council meeting. Funds will be used on four of their 31 community based homes for individuals with developmental disabilities. Projects include a new kitchen, energy efficient replacement windows, flooring replacement and new bathroom vanities.

September 5, 2012 (El Cajon) – Home of Guiding Hands is holding the 30th Annual Golf Classic Pro-Am Tournament on September 28 at Sycuan Golf & Tennis Resort, 3007 Dehesa Road, El Cajon. The event begins at 10 a.m. with registration and a Meet & Mingle with San Diego PGA Members. The Shotgun start will be at 12 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner at 5 p.m.

February 9, 2012 (Santee) – The Randy Jones “5K For Independence” walk and fun run will be held on February 18 at Santee Lakes.The event benefits Home of the Guiding Hands, which assists developmentally disabled adults and which has been hard-hit by state budget cuts.
Participants are invited to stay at Santee Lakes for a day of family fun, picnic lunch, beer garden, and awards ceremony.

May 5, 2010 (El Cajon) -- The Board of Directors of Home of Guiding Hands announced that long-time Executive Director Carol A. Fitzgibbons has resigned to accept a position with Inland Regional Center. Fitzgibbons will become the Executive Director of the center, which contracts with the state to offer case management services to people with developmental disabilities in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
