GROUPS SLAM TRUMP ADMINISTRATION'S ROLLBACK OF AUTO EMISSION STANDARDS

April 3, 2020 (Los Angeles) - Groups that promote public health and clean air and that advocate for consumers all are vowing to fight the Trump administration's new rollback of vehicle-emission standards. The new rule was finalized on Tuesday.

RACING VEHICLES CRASH ON I-8, INJURIIES INCLUDE CHILDREN

January 5, 2013 (San Diego’s East County) –a white KIA  SUV and a dark red Nissan sports car racing at speeds over 100 mph crashed into the center divider on I-8 west near College Avenue around 9:40 p.m. last night.   California Highway Patrol also seeks a third vehicle, a white sedan, seen fleeing the scene that may also have been racing.

NEW SAN YSIDRO TO TIJUANA BORDER ENTRY OPENS

November 3, 2012 (Tijuana) -- On November 1, 2012, the new border crossing from San Ysidro to Tijuana began operations. The crossing, known as El Chaparral, will have 22 lanes equipped with the latest technology for fast access to Mexico.

Vehicles headed southbound on I-5 will turn right once they reach the border onto the modern facilities which create a more convenient crossing into Tijuana and other locations.

SHOCKEY FIRE RESIDENTS RETURN

September 26, 2012 (Boulevard)—Around  five in the afternoon, as the sun was starting to set, the first residents of Boulevard’s Tierra del Sol neighborhood began  to come home. There was anxiety in some faces, as well as relief on others, as they learned what state their properties were in –and whether their homes had survived the devastating 2,850 acre Shockey Fire that destroyed 11 homes and claimed the life of an elderly man.

July 13, 2011 (Ramona) --Many vehicles and other items will go to the highest bidder at the County’s public auction in Ramona on Saturday, July 16.

Expect a surprising range of surplus government property from the County and other local agencies. Vehicles and equipment will include Ford Expedition SUVs; a  mobile command center bus; 35-passenger school busses; a Caterpillar backhoe tractor; a horse trailer; flatbed trailers; a forklift; Ford, Nissan and Honda sedans; pickup trucks; semi-trucks; golf carts; generators; computers and wheelbarrows.
