February 4, 2012 (El Cajon) -- Elite Gymnastics Academy, along with the American Red Cross, is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, February 16th, from 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Elite Gymnastics Academy, 1817 John Towers Avenue in El Cajon.

EAST COUNTY PAGEANTS SEEK CONTESTANTS


January 2, 2011 (San Diego’s East County)--Pageant organizers are currently seeking outgoing women ages 13-26 to participate in the 2012 Miss La Mesa and Miss Santee Pageants, programs that have been a tradition in La Mesa and Santee since the late 1960’s.

UNIVERSITY VOLUNTEERS HELP WOOD DUCK NESTING PROJECT AT SANTEE LAKES


December 3, 2011 (Santee) -- On a warm fall afternoon, students from the Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) drove through the gates of Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve to help with a very special project – the Wood Duck Nesting Project. This project rehabilitates nesting homes for the native Wood Duck population ‐ PLNU has volunteered to participate in this project for the past four years.
