May 11, 2017 (Reno) - The San Diego State softball team used a 14-hit performance to outlast Nevada 11-9 Thursday afternoon in Reno, Nev. The Aztecs improved to 30-17 overall and 14-8 in Mountain West play with their fifth consecutive victory, while the Wolf Pack dropped to 27-22 and 12-10.

April 30, 2017 (Logan, Utah) - Shelby Thompson (Benicia, Calif.) and Jenavee Peres (Garden Grove, Calif.) each hit grand slams to lead the San Diego State softball team to a 15-5, five-inning victory over Mountain West-leading Utah State in the series finale Sunday in Logan, Utah. The Aztecs improved to 26-17 overall and 10-8 in MW play, while the Aggies dropped to 32-12 and 14-6.

April 29, 2017 (Logan, Utah) - The San Diego State softball team was swept in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Utah State. The Aztecs (25-17, 9-8 MW) opened with a 4-2 loss to the Aggies (32-11, 14-5 MW) before falling by a 4-1 score on a walk-off three-run home run in the nightcap.

April 15, 2017 (San Diego) - Jenavee Peres (Garden Grove, Calif.) homered twice and Erica Romero (Corona, Calif.) tossed a five-hit shutout to lift San Diego State to an 8-0, six-inning win over New Mexico Saturday at SDSU Softball Stadium. If was the fifth consecutive victory for the Aztecs (23-14, 7-5 MW), who swept the series with the Lobos (19-18, 5-7 MW) by a combined score of 22-3.

April 14, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State run-ruled New Mexico 10-2 in five innings for its fourth consecutive victory Friday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs (22-14), who came into the weekend in a tie for seventh place, are now in a tie for second in the Mountain West standings at 6-5 after clinching the series over the Lobos (19-17, 5-6 MW).

The Aztecs (18-12, 2-3 MW) and the Rams (14-10, 2-3 MW) now each have one win apiece in the weekend series with the final game moved up to 11 a.m. MT (10 a.m. PT) Sunday with rain in the forecast.

March 12, 2017 (Long Beach) - Junior Jenavee Peres (Garden Grove, Calif.) hit a grand slam in the top of the sixth inning to lift the San Diego State softball team to a 6-1 victory over Harvard Sunday afternoon at Long Beach State. March 11, 2017 (Fullerton) - The San Diego State softball team swept a pair of games in convincing fashion Saturday at the Louisville Slugger Invitational at Cal State Fullerton. The Aztecs (15-9) defeated Eastern Michigan, 10-0, in five innings and then knocked off Longwood, 5-1.

March 9, 2017 (Fullerton) - The San Diego State softball team saw its four-game winning streak snapped in a 2-0 loss at Cal State Fullerton Thursday night at the Louisville Slugger Classic.

The game was a pitchers’ duel between Aztec (12-8) freshman Marissa Moreno (Torrance, Calif.) and Titan (10-11) senior transfer Kelsey Kessler. Moreno (6-3) allowed two runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings, striking out five. Kessler (7-4), meanwhile, yielded just four hits and two walks in the complete game shutout, striking out four. SDSU junior Alex Formby (Orange, Calif.) relieved Moreno in the sixth and got the only batter she faced out.

March 7, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State overcame a wobbly start Tuesday to register its fourth straight victory with a 5-2 triumph over visiting Detroit Mercy in a non-conference game at SDSU Softball Stadium. With the win, the Aztecs raise their record to 12-7 on the year, while the Titans slip to 3-15 overall.

It was the third straight win for the Aztecs (11-7), who are receiving votes in both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls.

March 2, 2017 (San Diego) - After facing McNeese State earlier in the first day of the San Diego Classic, a game in which they rallied in the seventh, but ultimately fell 7-6, SDSU softball took on BYU tonight in the second game of their doubleheader.  Senior McKenna Bull started for the Cougars against the freshman Marissa Moreno for the Aztecs.
